1. Become a Wish Granting Volunteer:
For children facing endless rounds of hospitals, painful treatment and medication a wish fulfillment gives back what the sickness takes away hope, strength and joy.
Make a Wish Foundation is an NGO based in Dadar that fulfils wishes of terminally ill children. They are looking for volunteers who can commit for a longer duration specifically on weekdays. The volunteers will have to meet the children and talk to them for a few days till the child starts feeling so close that he/she shares their wish with them. The wish is always granted in kind and not in cash.
They also require volunteers to do fund raising and marketing.
2. Samtol Foundation:
Samtol Foundation is an NGO based in Dadar that works with street Children. They provide care, protection & support to children in Difficult Situations. They repatriate the runaway children through counselling and other social work interventions.
They are running a Camp from 15th June 2008 to 20th July 2008 at Kalyan. They would require volunteers to take care of these children during the camp who can carry out varied activities like drawing, art and craft, paper bag making, puppet making, story telling and any other skills which one would like to pass on to these children. Join hands together and help these kids who are always in search of someone who can lend ears to them. Accommodation arrangements will be looked after if the person is interested to live there during the camp. Travel allowance would be reimbursed if the person wants volunteer for few days.
3. Aasra:
Aasra is an NGO based at Thane working with street children to give a meaning in the lives of these children and make them self reliant by conducting various need based services. Their vision is to have a city free of street children. They run Day Care centers and have Night shelter for youth. They also implement various schemes of Government and collaborate with different NGOs.
Fun time with Kids: A volunteer is required who can carry out recreational activities or play indoor games and spend time with children. The scope to work here is a lot. You can be as creative as you can. A volunteer can work on weekends.
Computer Trainer: Volunteers are required to teach children basic computer skills at their center in Navi Mumbai. A volunteer can work on weekends

3. Prerana: Prerana, an NGO works with meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds. They identify students from government schools who appear on the merit list and take the responsibility of ensuring that these students, not only go in for their higher studies, but also achieve their dreams of becoming doctors, engineers, scientists, etc. Prerana is committed to helping students continue to do well, complete their education with excellent results and get good jobs and is supporting 500 such students in Bangalore city this year.
